The Dentist: Jonathan Burgess BDS (Newc) GDC 70555
Jonathan qualified from Newcastle Upon Tyne Dental School in 1995 and returned to Manchester to begin in general practice. After 18 months experiencing everything from children’s GA dentistry, managing high need heavily filled dentitions, domiciliary visits and the provision of emergency services, he chose to take a visiting position in Australia at a single-handed private practice. This then led to a further role acting as sole dentist for a mobile service in Queensland covering hundreds of square kilometres. On his return to the UK in 1998 Jonathan worked in mixed practice for a number of years and in 2002 completed a year’s Advanced Restorative course in Manchester provided by a UK leader in the field, which enabled him to apply the most modern techniques to everyday practice. He continued to attend many and various courses, study groups and seminars on modern general and aesthetic dentistry. To complement his dentistry in 2007 Jonathan completed training at Intraderm for facial smoothing injections. He has more recently attended qualifying courses in short term adult orthodontics and tooth aligning systems. In order to pursue the highest quality dentistry and use the best technicians and materials he decided to become a practice owner and took over as practice principal at TheDentistWilmslow in December 2013.
