University qualifications
Nick gained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honours from the University of Manchester in 2001, graduating as the top Dentist that year with a distinction in the final examination. He has been presented with a number of prestigious dental awards including the Dr Charles Preston Prize and Medal, the Farrar Prize in Prosthetics, the Society of Manchester Dental Alumni (SOMANDA) prize in dental sciences, the British Society for the Study of Prosthetic Dentistry - Coltene/Whaledent bursary award, and the Stafford-Miller Prize for excellence.
Post graduate qualifications
Nick has also completed further post-graduate examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of England including the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS RCS(Eng)) and the Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practice (MFGDP(UK)). Lifelong learning is something that Nick is dedicated to, and ensures that he will remain at the forefront of the dental profession.
Experience
Nick has significant experience of working in private and NHS dental practice, and has also worked in the hospital dental service both in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dental Departments. More recently, he worked at Leeds Dental Institute as a full-time Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry, and then transferred to the University Dental Hospital of Manchester where he held the position of Clinical Teaching Fellow, teaching both third and final year students in the Department of Restorative Dentistry.
Nick also worked as a Speciality Dentist in Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) again at the University Dental Hospital of Manchester, treating patients on referral suffering with jaw joint and bite (occlusion) problems.
